Cynthia started her fashion-modeling career after she moved her career to New York. The model signed a five-year contract with Wihelmina Models. She then became the model of Essence Magazine. The first cover for Essence one of the top-selling covers ever published by the magazine and also the personal choice of editor-in-chief Susan Taylor. Cynthia would soon book her second cover. This started her career off in the right direction. When she moved to Paris Cynthia was seen strutting down the Paris Fashion Week runways and Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia was able to move back to New York City after living overseas for almost a full year. Her campaigns featured Maybelline Oil of Olay Macy's. Vogue editorials followed, along as Glamour magazine Elle, Essence Vanity Fair and Glamour. One of her most memorable career moments was being chosen against Naomi Campbell for a co-starring part alongside Sandra Bernhadt in the film "Without You I'm Nothing."
